There's lots to love about Christmas: nativity scenes, picking out the perfect tree, decorating, the music...oh, I could go on for hours! But for the next twelve days, I want to share just a few things I love most about this season.
One of my favorite traditions is baking Christmas cookies. It started when I was very young with my grandmother, Nannie (you can read more about her here), when my sister, cousins, and I would visit her house and spend the whole afternoon making a giant mess in her kitchen! We'd bake sugar cookies, peanut butter cookies, gingerbread cookies and then cut out out bells, trees, stockings, snowflakes, and Santas using her green and red plastic cookie cutters. It was magical.
We try to make Cookie Day an annual girl's day, but we just haven't been able to this year. Thankfully, I got to spend some time with my friend, Mary Beth, this week and we carried on the tradition at her house.
And I have to say: I think this is our best batch yet!
