things i love

Hi friends!

I hope you're all having a lovely Saturday. Mine is lazy, which is nice. And I'm okay with the fact that it's not nearly as productive as last week's (since it's so pretty outside, I should really be out there enjoying it, but I kind of want to read on my comfy couch...after I blog and listen to Brooke Fraser's "Albertine" of course).

I went out last night for my college friend Kristi's 27th birthday. We had a few drinks at RiRa's and danced our silly little hearts out. I love how God continues to bring this sweet girl into my life. We met during orientation at Georgia Southern and got partnered together (with my other very dear friend, Lauren, who lives in Panama) in our first Interior Design class. Lauren and I soon changed majors, but Kristi stuck it out, and she now works as a full-time commercial designer in Atlanta. She and I were both involved in GSU's Baptist Student Union, and we've stayed in touch all these years. In fact, she was the first person who introduced me to Buckhead Church and our senior pastor Andy Stanley. And, now, Pierce and I are members there along with Kristi.

Another fun fact? The InsideOut coordinator, Shannon, who first selected me as a leader for the high school girl's ministry is in Kristi's small group! AND (yes, there's more) my co-leader, Sarah, is about to move in with Kristi in two weeks! All of us were out together at RiRa's, and it was so much fun spending the night laughing and dancing with these wonderful women of God.

I also realized just how old I am. In college, going out meant actually leaving at 11 p.m. or later and ending the night around 3 or 4 a.m. When I received Kristi's FB invite to go out for her birthday, she said "around 10" so I showed up at RiRa's at 10:20...where I sat, all alone, watching the Braves game with a vodka and Sprite, until almost 11:30 when everyone else got there. We had our fun, and we were all ready to go before 1 a.m.

That's kind of how I like it. Let me go out and have a good time and then let me get home at a decent hour so I don't sleep in until two the next afternoon. Ugh...there's nothing worse than a "I-slept-too-long" headache.

I digress...this post is supposed to be about the things that make me happy, yes?

Well, okay. Here we go:

1) Enduring friendships (and comparison photos)

Me and Kristi, last night at RiRa's.
Me and Kristi, enjoying coffee at The Daily Grind, just before
we graduated college in 2007.

2. My little family (minus Bella-boo)

3. My wedding ring

4. These adorable red flats- which only cost $8- from Plato's Closet

My feet look like they got attacked by self-tanner. Which they didn't, just
so you know. I think I got an uneven tan because of my
favorite gladiator sandals, which I wear with...well...everything.
5. Saturday photo sessions in the car, on the way to pick up terribly
yummy cheeseburgers and fries

What do you love?
